August 28: More composed than improvised – music by Luigi Nono, Georg Friedrich Haas, Mary Oliver and Rozemarie Heggen, John Cage, Wadada Leo Smith, and many others.

August 21: The music of guitarist Derek Bailey – in Company Week ensembles along with various duos and solos (including the legendary Milwaukee cassette recording on Incus Records).

August 14: A 7 p.m. the trio 1913 will visit with a radio debut of a live recording from their recent performance at Lubar Hall at Milwaukee Art Museum. This concert took place as part of an art performance by Nathalie Miebach a few months ago and Janet Schiff, Scott Johnson, and Victor Delorenzo of 1913 will fill us in on the story behind this new music.

August 7: Jason hosts the show.

Alternating Currents on WMSE (91.7FM) in Milwaukee every Sunday night from 6 until 9 p.m. is a showcase for music that experiments both with form and sound, in other words, serious creative work from artists who challenge the concepts and shapes of modern music-making.
